There are cruise ships that depart either Miami or NY that go to Europe - it would take a few days though. I know Royal Caribbean does, but I’m sure other cruise ships do as well.
You sure can. You can leave from New York and end up in England 7 days later. They call these transatlantic cruises. Cunard cruise line and Princess cruise lines have them. They are very popular, but in order to get back to the US, you would have to book a return cruise. But it is very possible to do. You would love a cruise. It’s very relaxing and you will feel like a princess on the ship.
If flying is really a problem for you, there are actually cargo ships that take a handful of paying customers on board for the Atlantic crossing. No cruise, no luxuries, no sunbathing, etc. - simply a way to cross the ocean.
The cabins are small and simple cabins - former crew cabins that are now free because more and more work on these ships gets done by machines, and therefore there are less and less actual crew members needed.
They are much cheaper than a cruise ship, but still 2 to 4 times as expensive as a cheap flight.
It takes 10 to 14 days for the journey, compared to the 7 days on a cruise ship.
As these are operating cargo ships, depending on truck drivers to get the cargo there in time, etc. etc. you might have to stay with the ship for 2 or 3 days, until it finally “sets sail”; so no garantueed date of departure, and consequently no
garantueed date of arrival.
I don’t know if this is a safe or pleasant way to travel, especially for a woman, but it is an option - and it is definitely different.
